4 Best E-Commerce Platforms that You Can Choose in 2019

Shopping for the best online e-commerce platforms is hard, especially if you have to deal with a lot of different options. All of them have their own pros and cons and it is actually up to you to decide which one you’re actually going to choose.

But, amongst a sea of different platforms, there emerges 4 of the best platforms which I think will suit a variety of different needs.

In this article, I will talk about these platforms so that you can decide for yourself which one you’re ultimately going to go for.

The Four Contenders

So, I want to structure the article in a way that compares their features, design, and other aspects as well. Before I can do that, let me introduce the four contenders which are Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and Magento.

Features

I am going to start by talking about the features. For the most part, Shopify seems to be the crowd favorite because of the many features that are offered for the price. It’s got a POS or Point of Sale System which allows you to integrate both your online store and brick and mortar shop all in one.

WooCommerce comes in a close second because you can integrate your WordPress website into the system so that you can tweak everything from there. This is perfect if your website is created using WordPress.

BigCommerce is another crowd favorite that is able to provide you with highly advanced more technical reports on your sales and store activities. This is ideal for business owners that are always keen on the progress of their ventures.

Magento is also quite robust, providing the user with amazing analytics and reports regarding abandoned carts, purchase funnels, and many more of your store’s statistics. It provides you with over a hundred themes and its order management features is second to none.

Design

Although Shopify provides you with plenty of themes, only a handful of them are for free. If you want to beautify your shop, you may have to spend some money on the theme that you actually want to use.

As for WooCommerce, the platform actually doesn’t have a theme, per se, because it will use the theme that is currently being used in your WordPress website.

Probably, the king in the design department is hands down, BigCommerce. You get a variety of different free and paid themes and you can even customize the website your liking, such as using different typography, tweaking the colors, etc.

Magento is lacking in the design department because you are only stuck with what they have to offer you. Although they are robust in features, they really do not offer anything in terms of design.

Customer Support

The reason why Shopify takes the cake in terms of customer support is not only because of its 24/7 service, but also because you can contact them in a variety of ways- either by email, phone, live chat, or even on Twitter.

BigCommerce comes as a close second because it also supports 24/7 customer service and allowing you to communicate with them in a variety of ways.

Magento also provides customer service, albeit not as robust as the previous two that I have mentioned.

Lastly, WooCommerce is the worst in this regard simply because they do not have an actual customer support service like in the previous ones. However, they do have a public customer knowledgebase, so if you have any queries, you might as well peruse the entire thing to find the solution you are looking for.
